There are two certification path options for your B4C 200-Hour training:
- B4C Wellness Champion Certification: CASEL-aligned social-emotional learning certification qualifies you to lead yoga, wellness, and social-emotional learning programs for students, colleagues, and community members!
- Dual Certification: B4C Wellness Champion + 200-Hour Certified Yoga Teacher Certification (CYT 200): dual certification includes a professional yoga teaching credential that demonstrates that trainees have completed 200 hours of yoga training and have met all Yoga Alliance (YA) requirements and proficiencies necessary to teach yoga at a professional level.
Breathe For Change Wellness Champion Certification Requirements
This is a CASEL-aligned social-emotional learning certification that indicates that trainees have successfully completed a B4C training and qualifies them to lead yoga, wellness, and social-emotional learning programs for students, colleagues, and community members. If you want to learn more about yoga and wellness to become a champion of your own well-being, share these practices with students in your classroom, or lead wellness classes for your staff this is the certification track for you!
In order to receive this certification, trainees must complete the following requirements:
Complete Training Pre-work Prior to Training
- Pre-Work: Complete a short online course, and all associated activities, designed to prepare trainees for their in-person training experience.
- Yoga Experience: Establish or maintain a consistent personal yoga practice
Attendance & Participation
- Trainees are allowed to miss up to 30 hours of training without needing to make-up any hours as long as their absences follow our guidelines described in our 2020 200-Hour Trainings Attendance & Make Up Policy.
- Trainees must be present and participate in all parts of the training day, as well as practice teaching experiences.
- Trainees must participate in and complete their Community Classes and Capstone Project.
- Trainees must plan and lead a Wellness Class Finale.
Tuition paid in full
- Trainees need to be paid in full to receive their Wellness Champion Certification. If trainees are on a payment plan, they are required to keep making payments until their full tuition is paid and will not receive their certification until their balance is paid off.
Dual Certification: Breathe For Change Wellness Champion + Certified Yoga Teacher 200 (CYT 200) Requirements
In addition to the Wellness Champion certification, this dual certification path includes a professional yoga teaching credential recognized by Yoga Alliance, the largest nonprofit association representing the yoga community. This dual certification demonstrates that a trainee has met all Yoga Alliance requirements and proficiencies necessary to teach yoga at a professional level. If you are interested in teaching in yoga studios, gyms, or pursuing advanced yoga training, in addition to bringing yoga and social and emotional learning into your communities, this is the certification track for you!
In order to receive this certification, trainees must complete the following requirements:
Complete Training Pre-work Prior to Training
- Pre-Work: Complete a short online course, and all associated activities, designed to prepare trainees for their in-person training experience. These are required non-contact hours that are a part of the 200 hours required to become a certified yoga teacher
- Yoga Experience: Establish or maintain a consistent personal yoga practice.
Attendance & Participation
- Trainees must attend all days of training, or adhere to our absentee and make-up policy for any time missed: 2020 200-Hour Trainings Attendance & Make Up Policy.
- Trainees must be present and participate in all parts of the training day, as well as practice teaching experiences.
- Trainees must participate in and complete their Community Classes and Capstone Project.
- Trainees must demonstrate competency and safety in teaching yoga by passing their Asana Teaching Finale.
Tuition paid in full
- Trainees need to be paid in full to receive certification. If trainees are on a payment plan, they are required to keep making payments until their full tuition is paid and will not receive their certification until their balance is paid off.
Requirement Deadlines
In order to receive their chosen certificate(s) on graduation day, these requirements must be completed by Day 15 of training:
If these requirements are not met by this date, trainees have until August 31, 2021 to complete their make-up hours (if needed) and have 9 months from the end of their training to complete the payment requirements.
Trainees will be emailed a digital copy of their certificate(s) upon program completion.
If trainees do not complete their certification requirements within the time frames stated above, their status is not-passing and they are not eligible for either certification as a result of this training. Trainees have the option to retake the training in full for an additional fee.
